Knot-Again uses domestic and exotic hardwoods for the creation of our products. Some woods are far more expensive than others and are reflected in the prices listed because they are exotic.
To ease the burden on the environment and pass on savings to you, the customer, we try to use reclaimed material as often as possible and we use the extra material from one project for another.
When wood is purchased, we buy wood that others might overlook because of the specific character of the wood. In that character I see the history of the tree as it was growing. I see the knot as the branch it used to be and the wormhole as the food source and home for the bug. I think of how that tree could have been in someone’s front yard, in the middle of a forest, or along side a wooded path. I think of the process it took to get that piece of wood to my workshop and now, possibly, into your home. I see the history of the wood before I see the end result-my product.
